FSA PRO Leicester take top spot in Cat One

mark62288

FSA PRO Leicester took the advantage of the games calendar as they secured a big 3 points and move top of the league in the ECFA Cat One.

With league rivals Future Pro not scheduled for a league game, FSA PRO Leicester had the chance to take top spot with just 3 games to go. After a tight and scrappy opening 30 minutes both teams failed to control possession with lots of turnovers and little in the way of chances. The only chance of note should have seen the opposition reduced to 10 after a clear foul when FSA were through on goal. Moving into the final 10 minutes of the half the ball was squared to Jordan Hudson from Harry Collier who calmly slotted his finish away. This gave FSA a narrow advantage going into half time and a 1-0 lead. The second half saw the introduction of Brooke Cooke who made a huge impact with his energy and movement upfront which unsettled the FCV back line.

With the team as a whole moving the ball quicker goals started to come with Brooke Cooke scoring two well taken goals and Harry Collier scoring a third with a well taken volley in the space of 12 minutes. Two more late goals from Jordan Hudson and a deserved hatrick from Brooke Cooke finished the scoring and an emphatic win. Brooke Cooke clinches the man of the match award but a mention to Theo Braham who was excellent throughout the game in defence for FSA.

Final score: FCV 0 FSA PRO Leicester 6

Man of the match: Brooke Cooke
